अर्थात;

Why do we need to meditate?

A devotee asked Ramana Maharishi:

"Why do we need to meditate?

I say it is "my mind" - then should it not listen to me and meditate by itself when I tell it to?

Why does it keep running outside all the time?"

Ramana Maharishi kept silent at that time.

At about the same time, a squirrel had given birth in the ashram, and unfortunately a few days later the mother squirrel got eaten by a cat. Ramana Maharishi took the job of taking care of the baby squirrels. He kept them inside a cage that was kept in the mediation hall. After a few days when everyone was sitting in the meditation hall, the same cat came inside. It so happened that the baby squirrels rushed out of the cage at the same time. Ramana Maharishi got up hurriedly, caught all the baby squirrels one by one and put them back in the cage and locked the door firmly shut.

He then turned to the devotee that had asked the above question and calmly said  - "These poor little squirrels do not have the maturity to know the dangers of the outside world, that if it goes out, the cat will make a meal of them. When they get that maturity, they will go hide inside by themselves. Until they get the maturity, we have to keep putting them inside. It is the same thing with our mind. Our mind does not know that if it goes to the outside world, there is nothing but suffering. It keeps running out in ignorance. When it gets the maturity, it will go inside by itself. Until then, it is our job to put it inside with effort - which we do in meditation."

World is a Mirror

A person asked a question to his Guru, "My workers are not true to me. My children, my wife and the entire world is very selfish. No body is correct."

Guru smiled and told a story...,

In one small village there was a room with 1000 mirrors. One small girl used to go inside and play.! Seeing thousands of children around her she was joyful.

She would clap her hands and all the 1000 children would clap back at her

She considered this place as the world's happiest n beautiful place and would visit often.

This same place was once visited by a sad n a depressed person.

He saw around him thousands of angry men staring at him

He got scared and raised his hands to hit them and in return 1000 hands lifted to hit him back.

He thought... this is the worst place in the world and left that place.

This world is also a room with 1000 mirrors around you... What we let out of us is what the society will give back to us.!!

"This world is a heaven... It's up to us what we make out of it..."  said the Guru.

Law of Karma

After Kurukshetra war,
Dhritrarashtra asked Krishna,
“I had 100 sons. All of them were killed.
Why?"

Krishna replied,
“50 lifetimes ago,
You were a hunter.
 While hunting,
You tried to shoot a male bird.
It flew away.
 In anger,
You ruthlessly slaughtered the 100 baby birds in the nest.
Father-bird had to watch in helpless agony.
Because you caused that father-bird the pain of seeing the death of his 100 sons,
You too had to bear the pain of your 100 sons dying."

Dhritarastra said,
“Ok,
But why did I have to wait for fifty lifetimes?”
Krishna answered, “You were accumulating
'Punya' during the last
fifty lifetimes to get 100 sons -
Because that requires a lot of Punya .
Then you got the reaction for the 'Paap' (sin) that you have done fifty lifetimes ago.”

Krishna says in the Bhagavad-gita (4.17) "Gahana Karmano Gatih"
The way in which action and reaction works is very complex.
God knows best which reaction has to be given at what time in what condition.
 Therefore,
Some reaction may come in this lifetime,
Some in the next and Some in a distant future lifetime.

There is a saying,
“The mills of God grind slow;
but,
They grind exceedingly fine.”
So, every single action will be accounted for,
 SOONER OR LATER

Srimad Bhagavatam gives example:
If we have a cowshed with 1000 calves and
If we leave a mother cow there,
She will easily find out where her calf is among those thousands.
She has this Mystical Ability.

Similarly,
Our karma will find us among the millions on this planet.
There may be thousands going on the road but only one meets with an accident
It is not by chance,
It's by KARMA.

Thus,the LAW OF KARMA works exceedingly fine;
 it may be
 *'SLOW TO ACT',*I
 but
' NO ONE CAN ESCAPE '

So be very careful about your words, actions and thoughts ...  !!

Four Yuga

There are four yugas widely accepted in Hinduism. They are:
1. Sat yug
2. Treta yug (Ramayana)
3. Dwapara yug (Mahabharata)
4. Kal yug (Present)

In Satya yug, the fight was between two worlds (Devalok & Asuralok). Asuralok being the evil, was a different WORLD.

In Treta yug, the fight was between Rama and Ravana. Both rulers from two different COUNTRIES.

In Dwapara yug, the fight was between Pandavas and Kauravas. Both good and evil from the SAME FAMILY.

Kindly note how the evil is getting closer. For example, from a DIFFERENT WORLD to a DIFFERENT COUNTRY to the SAME FAMILY.

Now, know where is the evil in Kaliyug?

It is inside us. Both GOOD AND EVIL LIVE WITHIN. The battle is within us. Who will we give victory to, our inner goodness or the evil within?

Think, identify and fight..!
